Quentin Millesaux

Quentin Sirjacq was born in Paris in 1978. His eclectic musical interests keep him active as an improviser, a new music performer, and a composer of music for film, theater and radio. He studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (Netherlands) between 1999 and 2004, where he completed an M.A. in Piano. While in the Netherlands, he played in a number of groups, he also worked with the bigband Tetzépi , Collison Palace and the Royal Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, and performed in such prestigious halls as the Bimhuis, Ijsbreker and Beurs van Berlage, in addition to appearing at various European festivals and stages like Fondation cartier, Palais de Tokyo, College des Bernardins…

In this celebration of one of Britain's best-loved artists, the illustrator and author Sir Quentin Blake tells the story of his 70-year-long career in his own words and with his own pictures. Specially for this documentary, he has been filmed creating an extraordinary new work: a canvas 30 feet long and seven feet high, on which self-portraits and classic characters emerge in the instantly recognisable, energetic and ebullient style that has taken root in the imaginations of successive generations of children and parents.

Rosanne Philippens is considered one of the greatest violinists in the Netherlands. For a jazz musician, Quentin Baxter could not have been born at a better time or in a better place. By the summer of 1970 when he touched down in Charleston, South Carolina, the first 75 years of jazz saw blues, ragtime, swing, bop, free jazz and fusion become the pulse and face of American culture.
