Part of a series of previously unreleased live recordings in Paris featuring legendary names in jazz. Quincy Jones was based in Paris in 1960 and these concerts offered contrasting numbers, both big band arrangements and a return by Nat King Cole to the jazz trio format with which he first made his name. The association of Jones and Cole was a natural one as both men were jazz musicians with a feel for popular music.
