Radiohead Hail to The Chief

Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill have lived the resistance from day one. So it's no surprise that in the midst of 2016's tumultuous election, the revolutionary musicians would join together as Prophets of Rage to combat the coming storm, whatever it may be. While the fierce independence and enduring influence of their collective lineage is nearly impossible to overstate, these creative kindred spirits knew immediately this was a different beast.

Radiohead's seventh studio album which pioneered a unique "pay-what-you-want" system of album sales when it was first released. In 2012, Rolling Stone placed "In Rainbows" at number 336 on their updated list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. This Special Edition includes the bonus disc, which contains eight additional tracks.

"OK Computer: OKNOTOK 1997-2017" featuring remastered OK COMPUTER album plus B-Sides and 3 Never Before Released Tracks: “I Promise”, “Lift”, and “Man Of War”, rescued from defunct formats, prized from dark cupboards and brought to light after two decades in cold storage! All material on OKNOTOK is newly remastered from the original analogue tapes. OK COMPUTER was originally released on various dates ranging from May to July 1997. Produced by the band and Nigel Godrich, the album is widely cited as one of the greatest works of Radiohead’s–or any artist’s–catalogue and was the first Radiohead record to reach #1 in the UK and to be be nominated for the Album of the Year GRAMMY. In 2015, The National Recording Registry selected OK COMPUTER to be preserved in the Library of Congress as a recording that has proven "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Following the protracted recording and more conventional alternative rock instrumentation of Radiohead's previous studio album "In Rainbows", Radiohead developed much of The King of Limbs by sampling and looping their recordings. It was produced by longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. Songwriter Thom Yorke described the album as "an expression of wildness and mutation". Radiohead released no singles from the album, but released a music video for "Lotus Flower" that spawned a viral Internet meme.

"A Moon Shaped Pool" is the ninth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. The album features strings and choral vocals. According to Pitchfork, while lite orchestrations are nothing new for the band, "A Moon Shaped Pool" brings them to the fore of the songwriting, and Greenwood's arrangements do more heavy lifting than on any other album". The tracks are listed in alphabetical order.

Portland’s premiere alt-classical group brings a huge, orchestral ensemble - including brass, percussion, and guest vocals by Patti King of The Shins - to perform a night in homage to Radiohead, including from start to finish, Radiohead’s seminal OK Computer.

SO THIS TAPE STARTED while the entire band was decamped at an undisclosed location working on the next Mountain Goats album, and I had brought books with me to read, and one of them was Pierre Chuvin’s A Chronicle of the Last Pagans, which I was reading as research material for another thing I’m working on; and it’s been a long time since I sat around playing music and thinking about antiquity, but I used to do it all the time, and several of you know that because the old tapes are all littered with stories about Ajax and Agamemnon and the cult of Cybele, stories which, when I was learning them, got me so fired up that as soon as I got out of class I’d drive home in my yellow 1969 Superbeetle and write songs about them.

Deutsche Grammophon is proud to presents the release of orchestral works composed by Bryce Dessner, known to many from acclaimed rock band The National, as well as a complete Suite from the soundtrack of “There Will Be Blood”, composed by Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead. With this album Bryce Dessner and Jonny Greenwood open up a new frontier for symphonic music.

Avenged Sevenfold may be ramping up to the release of The Stage deluxe edition on Dec. 15, but believe it or not there will be yet another Avenged offering coming to fans just prior to that.

Jidenna cut a memorable figure when he emerged in 2015, looking like a roguish extra from a cancelled period drama: natty three-piece suit, slim cane with gilded accents, shiny cufflinks. He proved to be a shrewd repackager on “Classic Man,” which pulled from DJ Mustard’s minimalist bounce and made it No. 22 on the Hot 100. But in his efforts to break out of one-hit-wonder-dom and demonstrate a wide range on his debut album The Chief, Jidenna sometimes comes off as shapeless.
