This is the japanese version of Kraftwerk - Concert Classics. Various versions seem to exist. With transparent and with black jewelcases. On the back and front of the case a blue sticker is attached. Therefore transparent jewelcase have another cover with the Autobahn logo in blue on black. When the CD was released in 1998 a Japanese press release is said to state that the concert was recorded in Dallas Broncos Bowl on 1/5/1975. However latest investigations to a series of recordings from Denver clearly indicate this recording coming from a 20/05/1975 gig in Denver.

This live album focuses on the early years of the famous four, covering their Autobahn days with some pleasant surprises such as Tanzmusic from 1973's Ralf and Florian. The melodies are simple and sweet and the whole experience is conveyed with a playful display that I've only ever seen once before with Kraftwerk - when they tuned up their instruments before their Computer world show in 1981. Highly recommended to anyone who has interest in Kraftwerk, and who is looking for an insight into a band that had yet to transform into the clinical workers of their watershed album Computer world. How they got from hippie clangers to techno gods in the space of ten years, I'll never know, but this album shows the signs of their emerging kraft more than any author could write about.

A German band invented the sound of humans and machines making love. Formed by Ralf H?tter and Florian Schneider in 1970, D?sseldorf's Kraftwerk ("power plant") pioneered electronic dance music before Madonna got her first training bra and trusted technology (i.e., the drum machine) before the personal computer. These studies are the first in America to document Kraftwerk's impact. Barr, music commentator for The Face and Dazed & Confused, argues that the German foursome (Wolfgang Fl?r joined in 1973, Karl Bartos in 1975) was the first band since the Beatles to revolutionize popular culture with what started as a backbeat. To prove this, the book opens with Kraftwerk's rapturous comeback at Tribal Gathering '97Aan all-night electro-hop in the English countryside.

Without doubt, the recordings of Tangerine Dream have made the greatest impact on the widest variety of instrumental music during the 1980s and '90s, ranging from the most atmospheric new age and space music to the harshest abrasions of electronic dance. Founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese in Berlin, the group has progressed through a full three dozen lineups (Froese being the only continuous member with staying power) and four distinct stages of development: the experimentalist minimalism of the late '60s and early '70s; stark sequencer trance during the mid- to late '70s, the group's most influential period; an organic form of instrumental music on their frequent film and studio work during the 1980s; and, finally, a more propulsive dance style, which showed Tangerine Dream with a sound quite similar to their electronic inheritors in the field of dance music.

The group began as part of West Germany's experimental krautrock scene in the early 1970s before fully embracing electronic instrumentation, including synthesizers, drum machines, and vocoders.
