Ranaldo and Refree worked together Ranaldo’s last solo album, Electric Trim (Mute, 2017), and soon after the pair returned to the studio to record the follow up they realised that Names of North End Women would become what Ranaldo describes as “the beginning of a new partnership, a new configuration”.

Make a cover album is always a risky exercise. I would say more extreme: play with material already walking the recesses of the brain of the listener can pave the way or condemn a brainy game outright rejection revision. Over eighteen years ago, one of the greatest singers of all time was a machete forget to Cohen and raised the maximum voltage level one piece, coated vocals and layers, would rock the annals of the twentieth century: "Little Viennese waltz" became "Omega", thanks to the duo Enrique Morente and Largatija Nick, untouchable, sacred. Until now.

For the last 12 years, ’77 have been bringing the classic rock’n’roll energy from the 70’s back with an unapologetic vengeance. Holding bands like The Stooges, The Who, AC/DC and Black Sabbath in high regard, it’s easy to figure out exactly what this band is all about. Consisting of brothers Armand Valeta on vocals and guitar and LG Valeta on guitar and vocals, Dani Martin on bass and vocals and Andy Cobo on drums; ’77 was initially formed by the brothers in 2006 and named as a tribute to AC/DC’s critically acclaimed album “Let There Be Rock”, which was released in 1977. Now in April of 2018, they’re still going strong with the recent release of their 5th LP called “Bright Gloom”…
