Dev who, after spurning Paro's love due to a misunderstanding, turns to drugs and vodka for solace. Paro moves on but Dev still is in remorse. He meets Chanda, a prostitute with problems of her own. Dev likes her but his penchant for self-destruction prevents him and Chanda from truly getting together. He also meets sleazy people like Chunni, Chanda's pimp who drags Dev further into self-destruction to further his own needs.

Raj (Fardeen Khan) loves to paint the town red, maroon and crimson too. Bhavana (Ayesha Takia) prefers the colors of spirituality. He wants fun 'n' frolic in the bed room, she prefers pooja paath in the prayer room. Veer (Zayed Khan) moves to a flirt beat. Diya's (Esha Deol) heart beats for acting. He wants to rock 'n' roll in but the only role she will consider is the one in films. Aryan (Sharman Joshi) is god's gift to women wanting love. Sonia (Soha Ali Khan) is a life line for women wanting divorce. He will appeal to woo her in bed. Meanwhile, no one knew that three bomb shells Madhuri (Ria Sen), Dimple (Sophie Chaudhary) and Rekha (Arti Chabaria) will have an explosion blast with Raj, Veer and Aryan. And most important of all is the Kabab Mein Haddi Lucky Bhaiya aka Lukhwinder Singh (Sanjay Dutt). He will add namak mirchi to the perfect kichadi cooked by the guys and make their wives suspicious and their lives suicidal.

Our film is a love story. A love triangle. But love triangles are boring. And love stories are dime a dozen. So what’s unique about this story? The uniqueness is the Film Director’s Abbas-Mustan and the production house Tips Films. Abbas-Mustan, the men in white, would never make a straight love story. Hence to say that our story is a romantic thriller, would be an under statement. Well coming back to the story, let us first tell you that it is based on the scenic locales of Dubai. A girl called Sophia (new find Urvashi Sharma), from the middle strata of society meets a guy called Karan (Bobby Deol), belonging to the upper echelon of society. Opposites attract. Hence Sophia falls in love with Karan and gets engaged to him. Comes guy No. 2 – Vicky (Akshaye Khanna); he belongs to the girl strata of society. Positives come close too. Hence, Sophia inspite of being engaged to Karan, starts falling for Vicky. So what’s new about this story?? The girl – Sophia has a past that seems to be threatening her future… The guy – Vicky also has a past that can jeopardize the girl’s future. And the rich guy Karan, too has a gruesome past, that will… if unleashed shatter all the three lives. Besides, to top it all, there is a fourth element to the story… a mysterious man… who seems to be monitoring all the three characters. Do you want to know more?? Dev D is one flight of fancy from the filmmaker that definitely defies all conventions and demolishes all moulds. Not only does it rewrite the technique of the artistic medium, with its unusual cinematography, dizzy editing, non-linear plot narration, turn-of-the-century dialogues and breathtakingly bizarre audio track, it completely revises the ancient text which has already made its mark in its various remakes. Dev D is the 13th film to be made on Sarat Chandra’s 1917 novel "Devdas".

At the beginning of the film, Kabir (Abhay Deol) proposes to Natasha (Kalki Koechlin). Their families meet at the engagement party. At the party, Natasha learns that Kabir is planning a three-week bachelor road trip to Spain with his school friends Imraan (Farhan Akhtar) and Arjun (Hrithik Roshan). Kabir explains that the three have a long-standing pact, and that during the road trip, each of them will have to pick an adventure sport, which all three will try together. Initially, Arjun is reluctant to take part in the trip due to his workaholism and obsession with money. It is later revealed that Arjun's ex-girlfriend left him due to this reason. Imraan has an additional personal agenda on the trip—to find his biological father Salman Habib (Naseeruddin Shah), an artist in Spain.
