The band's 4th studio-album, Snowfall On Judgment Day, features more mature songwriting than ever before and shows the band taking several steps beyond the quality of their previous output, and standing out from the rest of the crowd in the progressive metal scene with their unique brand of heavy, melodic and emotionally powerful music. REDEMPTION has clearly delivered their best album to date - an album that will stand as a watermark for progressive metal for years to come.

For all its intellect and adrenaline, metal is not generally known for being music’s most emotionally moving genre. While many prog fans would certainly point to Anathema and Pain of Salvation as prime examples of bands who know how to balance the rapturous with the raucous, those with even a passing familiarity with their output would note that these two European ensembles do so while straying fairly far from their metal roots. Many metal devotees would, however, surely point to two unapologetically metal bands who reliably inspire both manic headbanging and cathartic weeping – Fates Warning and Redemption – and it doesn’t take a metal scholar to note that these two American bands have a very important trait in common.

The follow-up to 2016's The Art Of Loss, which van Dyk counts as amongst Redemption's very best, Long Night's Journey Into Day is inarguably the sound of a band at the height of their powers. As followers of Redemption are also aware, it is the first full-length since the departure of vocalist Ray Alder, and features the debut of Evergrey vocalist Tom Englund. "We were unable to tour 'The Art Of Loss' because Ray was not able to actively participate in Redemption any longer, so we decided it was time to part company shortly after it's release. Ray is a dear friend, and I have nothing but respect and love for him and what we created together. But at some point, it just became untenable."

The brainchild of Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Nick Van Dyk (guitars, bass, keyboards), Redemption proudly unfurl the flag of American progressive metal, as proven by their impressively rendered eponymous debut of 2003, also featuring vocalist Rick Mythiasin (ex-Steel Prophet and New Eden), bassist Jason Rullo (of Symphony X), and guitarist Bernie Versailles, on loan from the legendary Fates Warning. For their second album, 2005's The Fullness of Time, Redemption gained an additional boost with the guest presence of Fates Warning vocalist Ray Alder, and broke in another accomplished rhythm section in bassist James Sherwood and drummer Chris Quirarte – both formerly of prog rockers Prymary.

The Fullness of Time is progressive metal band Redemption's second album overall, but the first to feature a band lineup, as opposed to a project lineup as found on the 2003 eponymous debut and featuring members of Prymary Chris Quirarte and James Sherwood. The vocals were provided by Fates Warning vocalist Ray Alder, who previously produced the first album and provided vocals for one song. This is the only album with James Sherwood on the bass.

Redemption is the eponymous debut album by the Los Angeles-based progressive metal band of the same name. The album was formed around the friendships and compositions of guitarist/keyboardist Nicholas van Dyk, joined by well-known musicians of the genre from bands like Steel Prophet, Agent Steel, Symphony X, and Fates Warning. First 4 tracks are taken from Stephen King's novel Desperation.

The Origins of Ruin is the third studio release of the progressive metal band Redemption. It is Redemption's first album with InsideOut Music and the first album with Sean Andrews on the bass guitars. The Origins of Ruin emphasises once again their unique musical skills. Complex songwriting combined with melodic heaviness, Redemption play Melodic Progressive Metal the way it should be!
