Four years of hard work went into this project: Jimmy Reiter’s second album and the successor to his award-winning debut. "Told You So" features the current band on all tracks. This quartet is augmented by long-time friends and musical colleagues Kai Strauss (guitar) and Boston saxophone virtuoso Sax Gordon. Of the twelve tracks on this disc, nine are original compositions written or co-written by Jimmy. “Told You So” is musically varied, yet all stays within the Blues genre … sometimes more firmly anchored in the world of Chicago Blues. Excellent modern blues from a real expert and a great band that you will want to check out.
"Der Rote Reiter" leads his musical heirs into the battle. With him the APOCALYPTIAN RIDERS celebrate a brilliant return home. The band did not sound so long, unrestrained and powerful. In an apocalyptic soundscape the balancing act between hope and downfall succeeds. The infernal force and the intensity of the songs, coupled with pleasure and joy, are the cornerstones of the tenth REITER studio album. The album is passionate and extreme in every respect. "Der Rote Reiter" stands for the sound, for which THE APOCALYPTIAN RIDERS are loved.
These works, often thought of in terms of being ‘immature’, are currently under recorded. This is a pity because although lacking in the depth of Vivaldi’s next opus, the masterwork ‘L’Estro armonico’, these sonatas are sophisticated and artful studies.
