Carl forces Vicki to set up a meeting on a train, and knifes his rival. Railroad engineer Jeff Warren (Glenn Ford) sees Vicki emerge from the murder compartment but, because of mutual attractions, refrains from testifying. Vicki uses her blandishments on Jeff in an effort to have him kill Carl; when Jeff refuses, she flees. Carl follows and strangles the girl. Freed of his infatuation for Vicki, Jeff is able to resume his romance with the pretty daughter of his co-worker (Edgar Buchanan).

Salt of the Earth (1954) is an American drama film written by Michael Wilson, directed by Herbert J. Biberman, and produced by Paul Jarrico. All had been blacklisted by the Hollywood establishment due to their involvement in socialist politics. The movie became a historical phenomenon and has a cult following due to how the United States establishment (politicians, journalists, studio executives, and other trade unions) dealt with the film. Salt of the Earth is one of the first pictures to advance the feminist social and political point-of-view. In 1950–1951, in the fictional village of Zinc Town, New Mexico, the drama tells the story of a long and difficult strike led by Mexican-American and Anglo miners against the Empire Zinc Company. The film shows how the miners (the union men and their wives), the company, and the police, react during the strike. In neorealist style the producers and director used actual miners and their families as actors in the film.

Kirk Douglas, Perter Lorre and Paul Lukas are survivors of a whaling ship ramming who find themselves on the Nautilus, under the command of the brilliant but demented Nemo (James Mason), who wages war against those who wage war. The effects are remakable grand for their day, especially the squid attack as men armed with harpoons try to dislodge the multitentacled giant off the sub's hull. Après une tentative ratée de kidnapper Max pour obtenir de lui l'endroit où est caché l'or, Angelo enlève Riton et propose de le libérer en échange du trésor. Avec l'aide de Pierrot (Paul Frankeur) et de Marco (Michel Jourdan), Max part faire l'échange, en comptant bien récupérer et son ami et son or. Il perdra l'un et l'autre, tandis qu'Angelo et sa bande seront tous tués.
