Richard was originally marketed as a rebellious rock and roll singer in the style of Presley and Little Richard. With his backing group, the Shadows, he dominated the British popular music scene in the pre-Beatles period of the late 1950s to early 1960s.[6] His 1958 hit single "Move It" is often described as Britain's first authentic rock and roll song. In the early 1960s, he had a prosperous film career with films including The Young Ones and Summer Holiday. Increased focus on his Christian faith and subsequent softening of his music led to a more middle-of-the-road image, and he sometimes ventured into contemporary Christian music.

Lauded as one of the most successful pianists of all time, Richard Clayderman releases an album of twelve new recordings, produced in the last year during global pandemic. The album features beautiful renditions of modern classics including Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect Symphony’, classical favourites ‘The Waltz of the Flowers’ and ‘The Radetzky March’, plus four new original compositions by Richard Clayderman’s long-time collaborator and composer of the 1977 signature recording ‘Ballade Pour Adeline’, Paul de Senneville.

There are probably as many Cliff Richard hits compilations as he's had hits to fill them with, but there is no faulting the logic behind this set. He influenced numerous singers and musicians across musical genres from rock to hip hop; his music helped shape rhythm and blues for generations to come.

Cliff continued to have hits in the '60s, even after he and the Shadows disbanded in 1968, but he split his time between pop and Christian music; in the early '70s, he focused on hosting a variety show on the BBC.
