It's often unfair to compare the Rolling Stones to the Beatles but in the case of the group's mono mixes, it's instructive. Until the 2009 release of the box set The Beatles in Mono, all of the Fab Four's mono mixes were out of print. That's not the case with the Rolling Stones. Most of their '60s albums – released on Decca in the U.K., London in the U.S. – found mono mixes sneaking onto either the finished sequencing or various singles compilations, so the 2016 box The Rolling Stones in Mono only contains 56 heretofore unavailable mono mixes among its 186 tracks…

Toronto has long played a sizable role in the myth-making of The Rolling Stones. It’s been a home away from home for the group for decades, a place where they’ve set up shop to prep before hitting the road since at least as far back as 1989’s Steel Wheels tour. And during those months-long rehearsal stays, they’ve regularly held secret shows around town at small venues, such as the Horseshoe Tavern, RPM, and The Phoenix Concert Theatre. But the Stones’ Toronto club stint that started it all was a pair of shows at Spadina Avenue’s El Mocambo Tavern that took place March 4-5, 1977.

Hackney Diamonds is the 24th British and 26th American studio album by British rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 20 October 2023 on Polydor. It is the first studio album of original material by the band since 2005's A Bigger Bang and the band's first following the 2021 death of drummer Charlie Watts, who contributed to some tracks in 2019. The album features guest contributions from Elton John, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and former Rolling Stone bassist Bill Wyman. Hackney Diamonds received a generally positive critical reception, with some critics considering it the band's strongest album in decades. The release was promoted by the singles "Angry" and "Sweet Sounds of Heaven". Marketing for the album included publicity stunts and merchandising that included worldwide fashion retail pop-ups, as well as cross-promotion with several sports teams.

"Jumpin' Jack Flash" is a song by English rock band the Rolling Stones, released as a single in 1968. Called "supernatural Delta blues by way of Swinging London" by Rolling Stone magazine, the song was perceived by some as the band's return to their blues roots after the baroque pop and psychedelia heard on their preceding albums, Aftermath (1966), Between the Buttons (1967) and especially Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967)…

As The Rolling Stones were preparing to play two nights at Wembley Stadium in June 1999, their first London shows in 4 years, they announced a surprise show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire for June 8, 1999. An intimate crowd of 1,800 lucky fans were treated to a number of rarely heard gems over the course of 96 minutes. As Mick Jagger stated from the stage that night, “If you want to see the hits go to the big place down the road.” And as promised, the deep cuts were deep – “Melody” performed for the first time since 1977, while “Moon Is Up” was brought to the stage for the only time in the band’s live career. Sheryl Crow, who opened the show, joins the band during “Honky Tonk Women.
