Colours launched onto the scene in 1968 with a stunningly glorious Psychedelic masterpiece of L.A studio wizardry. A super group before the name was coined, Colours was the brainchild of Gary Montgomery and Jack Dalton, two hard-working, former Motown songwriters who also penned songs for The Turtles, Nino & April and The Moon.
This magical mystery tour-de-force of Psychedelic Beatlesque Pop also features the talents of Derek & The Dominos bassist Carl Radle. This first-ever CD issue of their long-out-of-print albums (Colours and Atmosphere) is supplemented by long-lost '67 Dalton & Montgomery recordings cut just months before they formed Colours…
The year 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. On this occasion, many finds from the London Underground music scene found their way into the public ear again. The year 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. On this occasion, many finds from the London Underground music scene found their way into the public ear again. Now, with a little delay, perhaps the most important rediscovery from the time of Swingin' London is available: Iapetus presents with this compilation for the first time a comprehensive review of the work of the legendary British band Banging Colours. During the short period of their existence in London from 1967 to 1969, Banging Colours around keyboarder and singer Manny Wolfe were considered one of the most important and influential bands of their time. Joint appearances with Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Pretty Things or Tomorrow consolidated this status as well as their innovative light show, which gave the band its name.
"Love's Lost Property" is the 2nd album from the duo of award winning singer/songwriter, Rachel Cohen (ex-Karnataka / The Reasoning) and Jonathan Edwards: founder, songwriter and keyboard player with Panic Room / Luna Rossa. Unafraid to investigate a range of musical territories, the album incorporates lush, cinematic soundscapes alongside seductive and emotional instrumental and vocal melody lines. Guests include Dave Gregory, Kate Ronconi, Steve Balsamo and, of course, the band’s engineer and co-producer Tim Hamill on acoustic/electric guitars, electric bass and all drum programming.
Three Colours Dark - the new project from Rachel Cohen - singer/songwriter (Karnataka & The Reasoning) + Jonathan Edwards - musician/songwriter (Panic Room, Luna Rossa & Karnataka). The album features 9 original songs and a haunting cover of the Richard Thompson classic Ghosts In The Wind. Rachel and Jon are joined on the album by multi-instrumentalist Tim Hamill and special guests Dave Gregory (XTC/Big Big Train), Steve Balsamo (ChimpanA/The Storys), trumpet player Nathan Bray (Paloma Faith/Mke Rutherford) and others. Musical influences from Prog to Folk and Jazz to Pop blend seamlessly with the duo's own unique sound.
