This is a boxset of re-recordings and live performances and will be of interest to those interested in hearing alternate recordings of classic soul tracks. Some of these tracks are quite good. Others don't compare to the original in my opinion. Some of the songs are by well known performers that are not the same performer that had the hit originally. All in all this makes an interesting set.

Sam & Dave Very Best of Compilation 12-track CD. These 12 tracks highlight the aptly nicknamed “Double Dynamite,” soul duo, Sam & Dave. Signed by Atlantic Records in 1965, the NY label promptly sent them down to Memphis and Stax, where they paired with songwriter/producers David Porter & Isaac Hayes to create a cavalcade of memorable R&B chart hits including “Hold On! I’m A Comin’,” You Got Me Hummin’,”You Don’t Know Like I Know,” “When Something Is Wrong With My Baby” and “I Thank You” featured on this Stax Classics release. And there is no chance of forgetting the iconic single that forever marked the dynamic duo as the soul men – their signature anthem, and 1967 #1 R&B/#2 pop smash, “Soul Man.”

100 Super Oldies: Too Good To Be Forgotten is a 4CD box set compiling four different volumes from the 25 Super Oldies series of disc released in 1988. While the cover appears to give the compilations a unified feel celebrating the music of the 1950's and 1960's, it also includes a few songs from the 1970's, which at times does not make sense. This was released by the Happy Days label from Holland and it most likely means this was put together in an unauthorized manner.
