The Silbermann organ at Crostau has long been considered one of Germanys most significant monuments of organ building. The combination of the instruments crystalline sound with Lucas Pohles sensitive organ playing and the historically informed performance expertise of the Dresdner Barockorchester promises to make the present album a real highlight on the classical music market. The organ concertos of the Baroque continue to exert an exceptional degree of fascination even today, not least because the organ is widely seen as the solo instrument par excellence.

Gli Of New Trolls (precedentemente UT New Trolls) sono un gruppo musicale italiano fondato nel 2011 da Gianni Belleno e Maurizio Salvi, rispettivamente batterista e tastierista dei New Trolls. Verso la fine del 2011 i due musicisti hanno deciso di formare gli UT Uno Tempore - L'anima prog dei New Trolls, con l'intenzione di rivisitare dal vivo alcuni brani dei New Trolls non più suonati da diversi anni, in particolar modo il quinto album in studio UT del 1972.

Il suo repertorio spazia tra classico, jazz, pop e rock e ha collaborato con importanti compositori tra cui: Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Luis Berenguer, John Cage, Paolo Castaldi, Nicolò Castiglioni, Gianluca Cangemi, Jean O'Leary, Franco Donatoni, Dimitri Nicolau, Andrea Talmelli, Jorg Demus, Martin Münch, Matelda Viola, Giorgio Tosi, Mario Baratello, Alessandro Nidi, Izumi Kuwahara, Andrea Mannucci, Gianluca Podio, Olivier Messiaen, Frango Margola, Goffredo Petrassi, Aurelio Samorìi, Emilio Ghezzi, Giacomo Manzoni.

Conductor and harpsichordist Rinaldo Alessandrini is an innovative interpreter of Italian Baroque opera and instrumental music. As the director of his own ensemble, Concerto Italiano, he has brought dramatic, opera-influenced readings to a variety of Baroque works from Italy and beyond. Alessandrini was born in Rome on January 25, 1960. He was relatively late in beginning his musical studies, taking up the piano at age 14. Four years later, he discovered the harpsichord and traveled to the Netherlands for lessons with Ton Koopman at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. He was soon giving concerts on the harpsichord. Alessandrini founded Concerto Italiano in 1984. He also played the organ, and his first recording, a performance of Girolamo Frescobaldi's Fiori Musicali collection, was on that instrument.

Jonathan E. Blake shows on his album "Rêverie" a dazzling wealth of facets. He was also inspired by the young genre lo-fi while working on his album: "Lo-fi chill captivates with a certain simplicity, acoustic imperfection, minimalism. Because unlike other genres, it's not about captivating the listener with driving beats, deep bass or complex vocals. Lo-fi chill is all about slowing down the listener, getting them to dream, to relax, to switch off," Jonathan E. Blake says. And that's exactly the mission he has accomplished with a total of 14 tracks.

Danish composer J.P.E. Hartmann was the leading romantic Danish composer who influenced generations of Danish composers, not least Niels W. Gade and the son Emil Hartmann. He was a prolific composer and composed in all genres. His extensive music for piano is sadly too little known outside Denmark, but with its romantic tone, melodic charmed and harmonies known from Schumann and Mendelssohn it will come as a pleasant surprise to all lovers of romantic piano music. Danish pianist Thomas Trondhjem is here presenting the third album of a complete recording of all the works for solo piano by J.P.E. Hartmann. The first two volumes received very positive comments from many critics.

In the last quarter of the 16th century, the madrigal spread well beyond Italy. Over 85 books of Italian madrigals were printed in Antwerp, mainly by Pierre Phalese the younger, giving a place of choice to both Italian and local composers. Thanks to research into the collections published at the time, La Compagnia del Madrigale is unveiling the world premiere of works taken from the volumes that made the genre such a success. It reveals their full potential and establishes the madrigal as a cosmopolitan art form.

For a production at the King's Theatre, Handel had created a mixed version of his Italian serenata Aci, Galatea e Polifemo HWV 72 and the English masque Acis and Galatea HWV 49a, which was performed semi-staged several times in 1732 with a star cast (including Senesino) to great acclaim. For today's ears, the musically attractive version HWV 49b suffers not least from the mixture of English and Italian text. In keeping with Handel's intentions, a purely Italian version was created here with additions from Italian works by the composer. The result is as convincing musically as it is scenically and would have deserved its own number in the catalogue of works.
