Los huesos cantores es la recopilación de 75 esculturas de Shaun Tan que representan 75 de los cuentos de los hermanos Grimm. Cada escultura está fotografiada por el propio Tan y acompañada de un breve texto del cuento. Juntos, fragmento y escultura, nos ponen en situación de quienes son los personajes de la historia y se complementan en significado y connotaciones y en esta ocasión, parece que cobran vida con la escultura.

Che cosa intendiamo quando parliamo di coscienza? Quale rapporto c'è tra la coscienza delle cose che ci circondano e la coscienza che abbiamo di quella particolare cosa che noi siamo? Possiamo pensare ai nostri sé e alle nostre identità senza imbatterci nell'esperienza del tempo? E ancora: Che cosa significa percepire? Che cosa è un'azione? Che effetto fa essere un cervello in una vasca? Ed essere una mente in un corpo? Come riusciamo a comprendere gli altri, le loro azioni e le loro emozioni? È una capacità che condividiamo con gli altri animali? Oppure è qualcosa che ci rende davvero speciali?

The standard approach in the research of creative arts therapies has been to adopt a scientific method of investigation. However, here Shaun McNiff argues that such a method should not be the only form of enquiry and that the creative arts themselves have for too long been absent from the profession's discourse about research. This text traces three principle themes: it seeks to promote a better understanding of the difference between scientific and artistic forms of knowing; it highlights a need for research methods and questions which derive from artistic experience and its application to therapy; and it proposes that using these methods should help to determine the place for conventional behaviour science research forms in furthering awareness of creative experience in therapy.
