Start spreading the news: Liza Minnelli's long-lost live album recorded in the very heart of New York, New York is getting the deluxe vinyl and even more deluxe CD treatment from Real Gone Music and Second Disc Records! When the Oscar, Emmy, and Tony-winning superstar (and future Grammy Legend) took the stage at the legendary Carnegie Hall on September 4, 1979, the concert was already a hotly-anticipated event. It would be the first of eleven consecutive shows through September 14 - the longest run in the Hall's history. Not only that, but every show in the five-level, 2,804-seat venue was sold out.

German guitarist, composer, and producer Ottmar Liebert rose to success in the 1990s with his Spanish-influenced, easy listening instrumental music that he initially described as "Nouveau Flamenco." Born in Cologne, West Germany, Liebert spent much of his youth traveling around Europe and Asia with his parents. After picking up the guitar at age 11, he developed an early interest in flamenco music, although it was a career in rock that would initially bring him to the United States. After plying his trade for a few years in Boston's early-'80s rock scene, he eventually settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where began to develop the instrumental guitar sound that would soon vault him to the top of the new age charts.

Tom Russell's brand-new studio album Folk Hotel showcases 13 new Russell originals plus, as one of two bonus tracks, Bob Dylan's "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues," a duet with Joe Ely. Augie Meyers and Eliza Gilkyson also make guest appearances on the album, which was recorded at Congress House studio in Austin, Texas.

Silas began his piano studies at the early age of five and entered at the Santa Fe Consevatoire. Later he moved to Buenos Aires for attending the National Conservatory and to study with renowned Maestro Aldo Antonganzzi. After receiving First Prize from the Buenos Aires Conservatory he was selected for a master class given in Buenos Aires by Maestro Bruno Leonardo Gelber. This performance offered him a scholarship to follow his studies with M. Gelber in Monaco, France. A year later he was invited to participated at the first Martha Argerich Festival in Buenos Aires, making his debut performance at the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires.

Judy Garland opens JSP Records’ new 5-CD box set The Garland Variations: Songs She Recorded More Than Once (JSP 975) with “Everybody Sing,” the kind of rousing showstopper she was practically born to sing. Sessions for the song from MGM’s Broadway Melody of 1938 began when Garland was on the cusp of just fifteen years old, but the power of her vocal instrument was already in place. But even when belting with a force to rival the mighty Merman, there was always something unfailingly intimate – or personal – about a Judy Garland performance. There’s plenty of that intimacy, as well as that power, on this illuminating new set produced by JSP’s John Stedman and compiled and annotated by Lawrence Schulman.
