Jane Mallory Birkin, OBE was an English actress, singer, songwriter, and model. She attained international fame and notability for her decade-long musical and romantic partnership with Serge Gainsbourg. She also had a prolific career as an actress in British and French cinema.
Signaling a return to the folk-led roots of her early-'90s albums, Ma Signature is the tenth studio LP from Quebec singer/songwriter Lynda Lemay. Produced by husband Michael Weisinger, the 2006 follow-up to her rock opera Un Éternel Hiver features 16 stripped-down acoustic arrangements based on the theme of motherhood, including lead single "Une Mère" and a tribute to her idol, Charles Aznavour.

Tina Arena's departure from English-language songs to almost exclusively French ones was a brilliant concept. Her new life in France in her new relationship plus her new child have given her lush inspirations. The raw passion in her soul is felt in every single number. This collection flows from one heartfelt vocal to another. To choose favorites out of this cd would mean writing about them all!! Vocally, Tina fills these songs with subtle depth, glowing color, and unyielding strength.
Brief Encounters is a studio album by French singer Amanda Lear, released in 2009 by independent label Just Good Music for Your Ears. A two-CD set, Brief Encounters consists of downtempo pop songs and ballads on disc 1 ('For the Heart'), and uptempo dance tracks and remixes on disc 2 ('For the Feet'). The album included a number of cover versions of tracks like Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black", Lenny Kravitz's "I Belong to You" and Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" alongside new songs, written mainly by Enrico Petrelli and Amanda Lear.
Following on from the world music stylings of 2002's remarkable Arabesque album, but dispensing with that album's reliance on Serge Gainsbourg compositions, 2004's Rendez-Vous is Jane Birkin's most wide-open album in years, a joyous romp whose only downfall is, contrarily, the very factor that brought it so much attention. A collection of duets, Rendez-Vous pairs Birkin with singers as far-flung as Etienne Daho and Bryan Ferry, Françoise Hardy and Beth Gibbons, and the success rate is thrown as far across the spectrum as the guests.
