Caught in the Crossfire presents a multifaceted explanation of why people participate in something as dangerous and uncertain as a revolutionary movement. Beginning with an analysis of the grievances that motivate peasant participation in political movements, the book also explores the additional factors_leadership, resources, and strategies_required to mobilize peasants for collective action. Collective action itself need not be violent, but a repressive state response can quickly transform a reformist movement into a revolution.

Caught in the Crossfire taps into practically every police drama/mystery film you’ve ever seen before. Starting off with a standoff between the two partners Briggs (Klein) and Shepherd (Rodriquez) and a suspect who claims knowledge of corrupt cops before being gunned down by a group of police officers, the two detectives must backtrack and investigate the shooting to clear their names. This of course leads to the revelation that everything began with the killing of a police officer and Shepherd and Briggs must rake through the muck of Michigan’s “gangland” with both cops and gang members on their trail to solve the mystery.

SUPERB RADIO BROADCAST FROM TULL’S ‘A’ TOUR • Jethro Tull’s 13th studio album, A, was released on 29 August 1980 in the UK and 1 September in the United States. Initially written and recorded with the intention of being frontman Ian Anderson's debut solo effort (hence the album's title: the master tapes were marked "A" for Anderson during recording), however the record was eventually released as a Tull album after pressure from Chrysalis Records. Anderson has since stated that he regrets allowing the album to be released under the Jethro Tull name. • Presenting a departure from prior Tull works, the new recordings adopted more of an electronic rock sound with heavy use of synthesizers, although still retaining the band's trademark folk influence and Anderson's flute playing.
