One of the more satisfying classical/synthesizer debuts, Snowflakes Are Dancing works on its own terms as a piece of music. As well, the album succeeds as an interpretation of several Debussy compositions (including Clair de lune and Arabesque No. 1). Debussy's atmospheric compositions are naturals to receive the Tomita treatment and despite a few moments of interstellar cheesiness worthy of Star Hustler, Tomita's debut is an intriguing proto-synthesizer-pop record.

Seven Saturdays is Jonathan Haskell, from Los Angeles, United States. His seven track CD "The Snowflakes That Hit Us Became Our Stars" is an instrumental tone poem about the city (Los Angeles) that was composed while the author was on holiday in Scotland. Haskell's project is typically labeled chamber pop, yet the arrangements here are as sweeping as the city that inspired them. This is one man's time-elapsed vision of the city blown up by an impressive cast of veteran performers.

"Snowflakes Are Dancing" - Tomita's breakthrough release outside of Japan. Originally retitled 'Clair de Lune' in the USA and Japan. One of the first of RCA Records CD releases, and as a consequence, the sound quality was not great.
