Sol Rojo

Aunque sólo Oso lleva la cuenta, han pasado siete años desde que cayó preso por homicidio y robo a mano armada. Es un hombre parco, impredecible, violento por naturaleza o por necesidad, y es probable que en todos estos años no le haya dicho a nadie lo que oculta en sus silencios y la tristeza de su mirada. Tamara Rojo, dancer and artistic director of English National Ballet, explores Giselle - the first great Romantic ballet, and a defining role for any ballerina. Through two radically contrasting 2016 productions - a traditional 19th-century recreation, and a gritty reimagining of the work by celebrated Anglo-Bangladeshi choreographer Akram Khan - Rojo examines the cultural and social background to the ballet's genesis in 1840s Paris, and the spiritual themes that have fuelled its success over the last 175 years. Giselle is the story of a young peasant girl who personifies all that is good in life, and ultimately forgives the aristocrat who has seduced and betrayed her.

The series contains 37 films and documentaries on the Spanish Civil War from the archives of the Filmoteca Española. TVE broadcasters in Spain, in association with the Spanish Filmoteca has prepared a documental series in eight chapters (each of 55 minutes) with unpublished records of the Civil War that devastated the country between 1936 and 1939.
