In 1983 Robert John Godfrey and Stephen Stewart re-launched The Enid as an independent band and their fifth album, Something Wicked This Way Comes was released on their own label, featuring vocals for the first time. Featuring vocals for the first time, the overall feel is far removed from the Lickerish-era Enid, though crucially without losing their identity, Something Wicked…was their most accessible album to date, and remains their biggest seller.

From the first pressing ripped from my private collection. A fairly rare release that was overlooked by many in its day. Featuring a slower and more groove oriented sound than their earlier speed metal, many fans disliked the change in musical direction, but others feel it's their catchiest and most mature.
