Soulfly Archangel

At the dawn of the new millennium, Rolling Stone declared, “Soulfly seem built to last.” More than two decades, countless worldwide tours, and a dozen albums later, that prophecy rings true. Underground icon, extreme metal trailblazer, third world warrior, and leader of a diverse and dedicated tribe, Max Cavalera not only survives but thrives, blasting out riff after killer riff. The same voice, body, and spirit which launched Soulfly in 1997 summons impossibly heavy noise to this day, throwing down ten slabs of monstrous music on Soulfly’s twelfth album, 2022’s „Totem“.

Nathalie Archangel, a double platinum songwriter for her work on Bette Midler’s Some People’s Lives album, spent the early part of her music career recording well-received but under-promoted pop albums for Columbia and MCA…

Ritual is the eleventh Soulfly album, released in 2018. The album marks the 20-year anniversary of their debut album release by partially going back to the roots with the return of tribal stuff and grooves of early Soulfly albums, besides retaining some of the elements present on recent albums, such as death metal and black metal. Ritual features Randy Blythe of Lamb of God and Ross Dolan of Immolation. The album was named after Jane's Addiction album Ritual De Lo Habitual and Max Cavalera declares 'Ritual' a "very metal name".

Archangel is the monicker of Gabriele Manzini, he is the current keyboard player of Ubi Maior. At the beginning of the '90s, together with Simone Rossetti (The Watch frontman), he joined a Marillion cover band, but after a good number of rehearsals he left the line-up (they will collaborate nearly ten years later in the The Watch). Along with drummer Alessandro Di Caprio he joined some bands from Milan (Lighthouse Keepers, Ice Chain), performing either original songs and hard rock and progressive rock covers. In 2009 he released "The Akallabeth", his first solo album. In spring 2013 he released the cover of Pink Floyd's “Gunner’s Dream”. In october 2013 the new CD "Tales of Love and Blood" has been released. It features Damian Wilson (Threshold, Headspace, Maiden United) on lead vocals and some italian well known prog rock musicians.
