Time Life was founded in 1961 as the book division of Time Inc.. It took its name from Time Inc.'s cornerstone magazines, Time and Life, but remained independent of both. During 1966, Time Life combined its book offerings with music collections (two to five records) and packaged them as a sturdy box set. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the selection of books, music and videos grew and was diversified into more genres. When record labels stopped producing vinyl albums in 1990, Time Life switched to CD only. In the mid-1990s, Time Life acquired Heartland Music, with the Heartland Music label now appearing as a brand. This company was subsequently sold off and is no longer attached to Time Life.

Synchronicity is the fifth and final studio album by English rock band The Police, released in the United Kingdom on 17 June 1983. The band's most successful release, the album includes the hit singles "Every Breath You Take", "King of Pain", "Wrapped Around Your Finger", and "Synchronicity II". At the 1984 Grammy Awards the album was nominated for a total of five awards including Album of the Year and won three. The album was number one on both the UK Albums Chart and the U.S. Billboard 200, and sold over 8 million copies in the U.S. Synchronicity was widely acclaimed by critics. Praise centred on its cohesive merging of disparate genres and sonic experimentation. Rolling Stone described "each cut on Synchronicity not simply a song but a miniature, discrete soundtrack." It has since been included on their lists of the "100 Best Albums of the Eighties" and the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". In 2009, Synchronicity was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The Shamen began their evolutionary life in Scotland in the middle of the eighties. Founder member Colin Angus' erudite research into the mystical world of Shamanism, gave the band their name, and his passion for psychedelic 60's music, their sound. Perfectly updating bands like 13th Floor Elevators and Pink Floyd The Shamen were then joined by Will Sin who fused the band's guitar edge with sampled sounds and Hip-Hop rhythms. This 16 tracks collection, on the One Little Indian label under exclusive license to Virgin, featuring all of the singles they've cut for One Little Indian. All tracks are edits or mixes. Includes 'Move Any Mountain', 'Omega Omigo', 'Ebeneezer Goode', 'Transamazonia', 'Destination Eschaton'and 'Phorever People'. Beatmasters mixed nine of the tracks.
