Spin Presents Purplish Rain is a Prince tribute CD released in 2009 by Spin magazine. Not only is this a Prince tribute but it's a song-by-song cover to Prince's 1984 album Purple Rain done in rock form.

Already an unstoppable force in the record racks and in concert halls, by 1984 Prince was a hit at the box office too. The smash soundtrack album to his self-starring feature Purple Rain cemented Prince into the history books, while his reputation as a musical genius went ballistic.
