Every episode of BBC Radio 2’s popular Sounds Of The 80s show takes listeners on a journey back to a well-loved decade with its distinctive musical landscape. Hosted by Gary Davies (and formerly Sara Cox) the show delves into the various genres that made the 80’s so musically diverse from classic and alternative pop to rock, dance and hip-hop. UMC and the BBC have teamed up to compile a set of official Sounds Of The 80s branded collections that will showcase the decade’s fabulous sounds in three bite-size chunks. Each carefully compiled 3CD album will include UK Chart smash hits taken from every major music catalogue including Universal, Sony, Warner and BMG to do the show and the decade the justice it deserves. Like A Record Baby celebrates the biggest and best hits from the middle three years of the decade and features the likes of a-ha, Tina Turner, Tears For Fears, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and many more…

To honor his musical hero, Dylan Scott could think of no better way than recording his favorite Keith Whitley songs. An Old Memory, a seven-song EP of Whitley covers, will come out Aug. 16 via Curb Records. “My dad introduced me to Keith when I was a kid,” Scott tells Billboard. “The first Keith Whitley album I ever had was his Greatest Hits, so those songs are the ones that I wore out over and over and over again. It was hard to narrow it down because I wanted to keep going and do more and more, but these are my favorites.”

Hailing from Miami, multi-instrumentalist Darren Hoffman grew up as a blues, rock and punk guitar player. While studying film in Florida he met jazz piano master, Marcus Roberts, and soon plans changed as he went off to New Orleans to study jazz percussion. Yet his love of the blues, as revisited by Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana and The White Stripes persisted.

Wait A Minute! by the Russ Spiegel Organ Group comprises eight catchy, funky original guitar-and-organ-based tunes from the pen of guitarist and composer Russ Spiegel. The music is enriched by Russ’s strong, individual voice and is supported by top-notch Miami-based musicians Jim Gasior on Hammond organ, Tom Kelley on alto saxophone and Rodolfo Zuniga on drums, and further enhanced by guest appearances by Grammy-award winning trumpeter Bryan Lynch and tenor saxophonist Juan Turros. Wait A Minute! provides considerable interest and variety from track to track.

"Ambitions picks up from were he left off with Principe Del Norte. Still ambitious, but the tracks are shorter, more melodic and more concise. Prins Thomas also offers up his first vocal track, lead single "Feel A Love." Or to be precise, it's based around a sample of the track "Feel A Love" by one of the biggest pop-stars in Norway in the 70s and 80s, the late Alex (Naumik).

Come On Eileen is a song by English group Dexys Midnight Runners credited to Dexys Midnight Runners and the Emerald Express. Rhythm of the Night is a single by DeBarge, written by Diane Warren. It was a single from their album, Rhythm of the Night on the Motown label. The song jump-started the career of the prolific Warren. Dr. Beat is the first international single released by the American band Miami Sound Machine, led by Gloria Estefan, on their first English language. Cant Wait Another Minute is a 1986 hit single by British pop group Five Star, peaking at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.
