In addition, the prelude was published separately as the one-shot . War Games deals with the frightening and gripping circumstance of an all-out gang war in Gotham City and how Batman deals with it and how Batman's life and future will forever be affected by it. The War Games proper story arc has been divided into three acts, entitled respectively, "Outbreak", "Tides and "Endgame." However, it is actually just the mid-portion of the greater War Games saga; it is directly preceded by the story arc which serves, as the title suggests, as the prelude to War Games, and it is followed immediately by the story arc which is an "epi-sequel" to War Games proper.
