93 Feet East, Brick Lane, May 31, 2004: This was the first show of our May / June European Tour in 2004. We just come off a crazed US tour with Fourtet a month earlier, and a few months before that we did our first and very well-recieved tour of the UK after the big Wire article. Vibracathedral Orchesta & Jack Rose were also on the bill.

After 24 years of releaes on our band's label we've reached 200. This is a megamix highlight reel of selected Sunburned tracks throughout the Manhand catalog and we've included 2 previously unreleased tracks from our recent studio sessions. Please enjoy.

We were lucky to be able to play outside in the yard during the lockdown in 2020. We played a lot. We recorded everything. We took the winter off and shifted to the TV shows hosted by Shannon. Now we're able to play again outside and just this last week we started playing inside and started overdubbing.

Originally issued back in 1966 'When Angels Speak of Love' shows Sun Ra and his ever-morphing Arkestra on top 'out' form, as he plays gong and pianoforte against cavernous echo effects which become yet another instrument in his repertoire. The liner notes comment on how conscious he was that his music wasn't 'free' ('because nobody is free'), but you'd be forgiven for lumping this in with Albert Ayler and such other greats of free music.
