La COVID-19 a trouvé en lui une proie de choix, un étouffement annoncé. On peut se s’estimer heureux qu’il ne soit pas mort en 1965 : cette intégrale est celle d’une vie en sursis.

Il est né le 11 octobre 1951 à Paris, dans le 19e arrondissement, 3 ed'une famille de quatre enfants. Sa mère, Ruth Ambrunn, née à Munich (Allemagne), et son père, Alter Mojze Goldman, né à Lublin (Pologne), furent héros de la résistance. Il a pour frère cadet l'auteur-compositeur Robert Goldman et pour demi-frère le militant d'extrême gauche assassiné Pierre Goldman. Bachelier en 1969, il poursuit ses études et intègre l'Edhec, dont il sort en 1973.

Dotée d'une sensibilité à fleur de peau, l'auteur-compositeur et chanteuse Rickie Lee Jones (née en 1954) livre, depuis la fin des années 1970, une musique à son image : raffinée et discrète. Des albums comme Rickie Lee Jones (1979), Pirates (1981) et Flying Cowboys (1989) ont entériné la réputation de cette artiste entière et exigeante. En 2012, Rickie Lee Jones donne sa version de classiques du rock sur The Devil You Know, où sa voix est devenue grave. Adrian Farmer trained as an accompanist at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester following a music degree at Birmingham University. Adrian has made several recordings with other Nimbus artists: bass-baritone Shura Gehrman, pianists Nina Walker, Simon Callaghan, and Martin Jones. It is with soprano Charlotte de Rothschild that he has found his most enduring partnership releasing albums which include the premiere recording of the songs of her ancestor, Mathilde de Rothschild.
