The first ever collection of solo works by Edgar Jones, leader of Liverpool cult heroes, The Stairs. On this 3 CD retrospective, the versatile Jones mixes jazz, R&B, soul, blues, rock and ska into his musical gumbo. Features rarities by Jones’ garage bands The Isrites and The Big Kids, previously only released physically on a CD limited to just 50 copies. The Big Kids included drummer Sean Payne and bassist Russ Pritchard, who later formed The Zutons, and guitarist Howie Payne, who started The Stands.

Hank Jones was a jazz pianist of the post-war decades, whose active recording career spanned 60 years, but who did much of his most renowned work during the post-bop years of the 1950s. Learning his trade as bebop developed in the '40s, he was a noted sideman with many different leaders' bands, but, with a style that critics called eloquent, lyrical and impeccable, he made many noted recordings as a solo artist and leading his own small groups, recording for a variety of labels during these years.

All known live recordings by the fabulous Quincy Jones Big Band during it's 1960 European tour. By then, the orchestra included such stars as Clark Terry, Benny Bailey, Phil Woods, Sahib Shihab, Quentin Jackson, Jimmy Cleveland and Les Spann. Recorded with excellent sound quality, this is the first time that all of this music appears on a single collection.
