After a four year pause, Taken By Trees return to take you on a musical journey - and after a little wait, this one is as magical ever. The first step down an enchanted sonic path with Victoria Bergsman is 'Say You Don't Mind', a deceptively simple lullaby-like cover of the track first recorded by The Moody Blues' Denny Laine. Simultaneously both haunting and soothing with its gently euphoric atmospherics and Bergsman's own distinctly affecting vocals, which demonstrate why off the back of her own releases the former Concretes singer has been sought out by everyone from John Lewis (who had her cover Guns N Roses) to Peter Bjorn & John, who made her singing the centrepiece of their whistled classic, 'Young Folks'. 'Say You Don't Mind', of course, was also a solo hit in 1972 for Colin Blunstone, and Bergsman's new version heralds a whole EP's worth of songs written or recorded by The Zombies frontman which she has been inspired to make her own.

Percussionist Norman Hedman's medium-sized combo is well named; it plays an engaging blend of salsa, Latin jazz, bomba, samba, and just about any other warm-climate dance idiom you can think of. The flute occasionally has a hard time getting in tune with the brass but, other than that, the sound is lush, sweet, and gently, percolatingly funky – less a musical stew than a fruit salad. Hedman's influences include Cal Tjader and Armando Peraza, and while he also owes a clear debt to the big salsa bands, he deliberately avoids overwhelming the listener with too many layers of percussive polyrhythm.

We have missed Victoria Bergsman for too long. On her first album since the Hawaii-inspired Other Worlds six years ago, her voice remains her combination of cautiousness and integrity, and it is even more effective when the surroundings like this become more Los Angeles-licked and elegant. Vibrant Colors is a warm and timeless pop with an airy Compass Point sound that matches the classic Tom Tom Club. Then it continues with a delicate balance of stylish modern pop in space and rhythm. Wait is amazingly nice Sade reggae, and the club's most playful song, Man Enough, is just as attractive even for those who do not frequent the clubs.

Taken By Force is the fifth studio album by German band Scorpions, released by RCA Records in 1977. This was the first Scorpions album to feature drummer Herman Rarebell and the final studio album to feature guitarist Uli Jon Roth. Roth left the band in 1978 following the end of the album's tour, and was eventually replaced by Matthias Jabs. Like their previous two albums, Taken By Force caused controversy with its cover art which again resulted in the artwork being replaced in most markets with an alternative cover using photographs of the band members.
