2016 four CD live archive release. Esoteric Recordings' Reactive label is proud to announce the release of the second volume of an official bootleg series by the legendary Tangerine Dream. This set includes a 1978 Paris concert as well as a 1980 show taped in East Berlin. Formed in Berlin in September 1967 by Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream are simply one of the most important groups to have emerged on the German music scene of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Always guided by the genius of Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream developed a sound based on the use of synthesizers and keyboards. In Britain, John Peel soon began to promote the band on his influential radio show which ultimately led to Tangerine Dream becoming one of the first acts to sign to Richard Branson's newly established Virgin label in 1973. Tangerine Dream's music would influence a whole host of musicians who followed in their wake, such as Julian Cope.
Brian Eno, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tangerine Dream, Sacred Spirit, Adiemus, David Sylvian, The Future Sound Of London, Craig Armstrong, Japan, Klaus Schulze and many more.

Two years in the making, Close To The Noise Floor is a 4CD, 60-track set exploring the origins of electronica in the UK. Featuring tracks from key figures on the cassette label underground alongside early releases by future stars of the movement, this is part primitive rave, part synthesiser porn and part history lesson.
The late Oscar Menzel, who recorded as Airwaves, left a significant legacy that the electronic music community has routinely failed to acknowledge or come to grips with. An admirer and obvious colleague-in-spirit to pioneers Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Robert Schroeder, Pete Namlook, and so many other recognized synthi boffins, Menzel’s small but important catalog bristles with enough ideas to fill dozens of albums, accomplishing within a mere handful of recordings what lesser artists spend a lifetime attempting.
The collaboration by David Wright and Dave Massey under the name "Callisto". Combining the respective trademark skills that have graced a collective 30 albums, the two Davids merge striking melodies with strident rhythms and sequences in the best tradition of Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, to produce fresh and original electronic music.
