Bernhard Lang's album Voice and Ensemble offers a sonic journey through three distinct compositions. In Das Hirn he juxtaposes a solo voice with a chamber ensemble, capturing the end-time force of Durrenmatt's text through intense recitation and dynamic structures. The Travel Agency is on Fire explores William S. Burroughs' cut-up experiments, referencing his innovative techniques in an electroacoustic piece enriched with synthesizers, samplers, and a processed electric guitar. In DW 16.4 'Songbook I.4,' Lang transforms pop songs into a shattered past using the cut-up/scrambler program Abulafia. Lyrics undergo fragmented reconstruction, accompanied by damaged beats and scratch loops, creating a distinctive sonic landscape.

Dorothee Oberlinger presents "Pastorale", a colourful Italian Christmas album – supported by soprano Dorothee Mields, the Li Piffari e le Muse, her ensemble 1700 and the actor Matthias Brandt as narrator of special Italian Christmas stories. The album will be released on November 4th by Deutsche harmonia mundi / Sony Music.

The Leipzig bassist Andreas Pientka sets massive, monumental music in scene with his tentet on "Tiefe Nacht” (trans.: Deep Night). Seven brass players – two trumpets, a trombone, a tuba and three saxophones – as well as a rhythm group composed of Pientka himself as well as the pianist Niklas Roever and the drummer Alex Parzhuber bring the music to life, and the flutist Camila Moukarzel-Ortega also intervenes occasionally in the action.

This superb album commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation puts Martin Luther’s defiant act in musical context, celebrating some of his collaborators. Vox Luminis have made some excellent—and award-winning—albums, and this is one of their finest. Ambitious in scope, and imaginatively programmed, it finds the Belgian group with organist Bart Jacobs in top form. In addition to the obvious names, like Schütz, Praetorius, and Scheidt, we encounter some of the lesser-known composers of Luther’s time. This is not just historically important—it's also musically satisfying.

Horn player Felix Klieser loves snow and the freezing cold, even if he doesn't get much of it at home in Hanover. Ever since he was a child, winter has been his favorite season of the year - and not just for climatic reasons: "Even today, I'm an absolute Christmas fan and can't imagine anything better than coming back from a walk in the snow to a warm house and slowly warming up again with a cup of hot chocolate. Little lights, trays full of cookies, a visit to the Christmas market - this time is definitely my highlight of the year!" says the horn player enthusiastically.

A musical homage to the world of the poet Rainer Maria Rilke by the twin brothers Alexander & Konstantin Wladigeroff. They are accompanied on this journey by some world-famous soloists such as: Andreas Schol, Krassimira Stoyanova, Sarah Traubel, Theodora Nestorova, Christian Rainer (as the narrator), Wiener Sägerknaben and members of the Morphing Chamber Orchestra, led by Tomasz Wabnic.
