The Gardening Club 3rd album, Boy On A Bike brought to you by the same team that assembled that produced The Riddle along with some special musical guests. A visual and musical concept arose as the album was being created; life is full of Gateways, places we go to, or are drawn to, some positive some not so, but all part of the Bicycle Ride Of Life! This particular ride was not along a straight highway, more of a twisty turny country lane, starting out in Kent, the garden of England, then careering off to the Mohave desert, where a line of cosmic gateways conveniently lined up to admit the sounds and songs being recorded and then released forth their own aural commentary on the general proceedings. A circling of sights and sounds!
One of the legendary bootlegs in Rolling Stones lore, the 1971 gig at their old stomping ground of London's Marquee Club was recorded and filmed for broadcast on American television. Very little film footage was officially released and it sat unreleased until 2015, when the Stones Archive released the full performance on CD/DVD/Blu-ray to coincide with the deluxe reissue of Sticky Fingers…
Live at the Audio Club, Sao Paulo, Brazil, May 22, 2014 on '77 South American Tour.
Founded in the late '50s to back the now forgotten Johnny Sandon, this Liverpudlian foursome first played the Star-Club in July 1962, and made their 19 Philips recordings on March 1, 1963. Soon after they signed with PYE in England and went on to score many pop and folk-rock hits. This, though, is the rawer side of the Searchers. Hard, pounding beat music. Here are all early classics like 'Sweets for my Sweet', 'Ain't That Just Like Me', 'Sweet Nothin's', 'Beautiful Dreamer' and many others. 2002. All the Philips tracks are here: one original album, A&B sides of the singles, plus a miscellany of songs strewn around on compilations.
Macca To Mecca! Begins as a 12-song tribute to The Beatles that kicks off with a performance of "I Saw Her Standing There" recorded in London with a special appearance by Paul McCartney. It is followed by an extraordinary surprise set at the Cavern Club recorded during the band's sold out European tour. The intimate gig is filled with renditions of "Magical Mystery Tour," "Got To Get You Into My Life," and "All You Need Is Love," alongside iconic songs famously performed by the nascent Fab Four.
