As the third season of Netflix’s The Crown graces our screens, we turn our attention to the music in the royal drama.

The score for season 4, as with the previous season, comes from British composer Martin Phipps, who has previously written soundtracks for Victoria, War & Peace and Black Earth Rising.Like the third instalment of the show, the songs weaved through the soundtrack come from both classical composers and contemporary pop stars.

The score is produced by Hans Zimmer and he wrote the main theme as well. Rupert Gregson-Williams is credited for the main score, but there were important musical contributions by Lorne Balfe and Guy Farley as well. The score opens with Zimmer’s main theme ‘The Crown Main Title’ and the favorite part of it is the two note theme in the beginning. The rest of the theme is pretty good, but it’s the two-note theme which is the important part as you will hear in the rest of the score how it’s used to flesh out wonderful themes. The Crown is a 2016 American-British television drama series created by Peter Morgan and starring Claire Foy, Matt Smith & John Lithgow. Based on an award-winning play (“The Audience”) by showrunner Peter Morgan, this lavish, Netflix-original drama chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II (Claire Foy) from the 1940s to modern times. The series begins with an inside look at the early reign of the queen, who ascended the throne at age 25 after the death of her father, King George VI. As the decades pass, personal intrigues, romances, and political rivalries are revealed that played a big role in events that shaped the later years of the 20th century. The score is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams & Lorne Balfe.

House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series. An independent prequel to Game of Thrones (2011–2019), it is the second show in the franchise, created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. Both series are based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by Martin. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are the showrunners. Based on parts of the novel Fire & Blood, the series is set about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, descendant of the eponymous royal house, and 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms is united by the Targaryen Conquest. It portrays the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, the events leading up to and covering the Targaryen civil war of succession, known as the "Dance of the Dragons".

An American drag queen, actor, and singer who broke big as a contestant on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race, Trixie Mattel (born Brian Michael Firkus), is also known for her popular web series UNHhhh with fellow RuPaul alum Katya Zamolodchikova. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Firkus began doing drag at the age of 19 and made her first public appearance in a stage performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. After placing sixth on the 2015 season of RuPaul's Drag Race, she moved to Los Angeles and began working on her web series, performing standup comedy, and acting (Mattel appeared as herself on an episode of American Horror Story: Roanoke). In 2017, Mattel released the EP Two Birds, a well-received country-pop album that made a splash both at home and abroad.
