Great balls of fire! The Towering Inferno (1974) was the biggest success of the Master of Disaster, Irwin Allen, and his last collaboration with the world's most famous film composer, John Williams. Williams had written TV themes and scores for Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants, as well as the score for The Poseidon Adventure (1972). The Towering Inferno was both the summa of his work for Allen and a large-scale lead-in for his legendary run on 1970s and early '80s blockbusters for Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Williams has always had a talent for opening themes and The Towering Inferno features one of his best: the bustling, five-minute "Main Title" accompanies a helicopter flight over San Francisco in soaring, heroic fashion. From there the score encompasses distinct romantic themes—presented symphonically as well as in the "light pop" style of the period—and a wide variety of suspense, chaos and action music as the characters struggle valiantly to stay alive. Unlike The Poseidon Adventure, which featured sparse and claustrophobic interior scoring in addition to a thrilling main theme, The Towering Inferno was scored much extensively and emotionally.

Acid Mothers Temple is a completely freak out japanese neo-hippie tribe led by the guitarist Malato Kawabata (partially known for previous works published at the end of the 1970s). The band were formed in 1996 under the name Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O (Underground Freak Out). They started their career playing perpetual psychedelic jams very closed to Amon Duul II and Gong at their most gorgeous spacey rock moments…

We've played 3 shows, The Doom in London, "MMI Festival" in Marseille and Club Goodman in Tokyo then. Though Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno has gone on a hiatus, The present Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. took many songs over from this group. It's the only one release of this special one up, also this digital album was released only for Bandcamp.

For those well versed in the mythos of early 80s heavy metal, the name Michael Denner will be inevitably tied to the legacy of Mercyful Fate and the early, highly consequential studio offers of said band’s iconic front man King Diamond in a solo artist capacity. What is perhaps not is well known is that there is a fairly extensive that predates the release of the iconic debut dubbed “Melissa”, one that is heavily steeped in that mixed up era of sonic experimentation in the late 70s where punk, hard rock and heavy metal often converged…
