The Whale Soundtrack

The details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature The Emoji Movie have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Patrick Doyle (Brave, Cinderella, Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Sense and Sensibility). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 28, 2017 by Sony Music. A physical version is now available to order as an import on Amazon. The Emoji Movie is directed by Tony Leondis and features the voice talent of T.J. Miller, Anna Faris, James Corden, Patrick Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Steven Wright, Rob Riggle, Jennifer Coolidge, Jake T. Austin, Sofia Vergara and Christina Aguilera. The movie revolves around a multi-expressional emoji who sets out on a journey to become a normal emoji. The animated film will be released nationwide on July 28, 2017 by Sony Pictures.

Ennio Morricone was probably the most famous film composer of the 20th century. He was also one of the most prolific composers working in any medium. No exact figure is available, but he scored over 500 films over several decades, plus many dozens of classical works. While his film scores were in almost every imaginable musical style (and for almost every imaginable kind of movie), he was most identified with the "spaghetti Western" style of soundtracks, which he pioneered when providing the musical backdrop for the films of director Sergio Leone. Morricone's palette was extraordinarily diverse, drawing from classical, jazz, pop, rock, electronic, avant-garde, and Italian music, among other styles.

Jake Monaco (Dumplin’, Let’s Be Cops, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, Jerry & Marge Go Large, Like a Boss, Keeping Up with the Joneses) has composed the original music for the upcoming Disney+ animated series Cars on the Road. The show is based on Pixar Animation Studios’ feature franchise and follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister. Marc Sondheimer is producing the project. Steve Purcell, Bobby Podesta and Brian Fee have directed the nine episodes of the show’s first season. Monaco has previously scored Pixar’s shorts series Forky Asks a Question, the Pixar SparksShorts film Out, the Toy Story short Lamp Life and also arranged score for the Academy Award-winning Sondheimer-produced Pixar short Piper. Cars on the Road will premiere on September 8, 2022 exclusively on Disney+.

Together they take a journey away from the pressures of New York to the New England harbor town of New Bedford, where buried truths are revealed and change each man irrevocably.

Children of the Sea (Japanese: 海獣の子供, Hepburn: Kaijū no Kodomo, transl. "marine mammal children") is a 2019 Japanese animated film directed by Ayumu Watanabe and produced by Eiko Tanaka, with animation production by Studio 4 °C. It is based on the manga of the same title by Daisuke Igarashi, who also wrote the film's screenplay. It is Watanabe's first theatrically released film since Space Brothers #0 (2014), and the first animated film adaptation of an Igarashi manga. The film stars the voices of Mana Ashida, Hiiro Ishibashi and Seishū Uragami. Set by and in the ocean and themed on the mysteries of life, it depicts the connections between humanity and nature. It was released in Japan on June 7, 2019.

A story about the curse of time, the pull of fate, and the eternal power of love. The score is composed by Dead Can Dance's Lisa Gerrard (Jane Got a Gun, I, Frankenstein, Samsara) and James Orr. Songs on the collection include 'Like It Or Not' by Bob Moses, 'Someone to Stay' by Vancouver Sleep Clinic and 'Grow' by Frances.

Rob Simonsen writes film scores with a strong dramatic sweep that combines electronic textures with orchestral arrangements. Beginning with independent films in the early 2000s, he was working on major Hollywood productions within ten years, as well as writing string arrangements for pop musicians. Simonsen's most celebrated scores included 2013's The Spectacular Now, 2016's Nerve, and 2020's The Way Back, and he released an album of his own music, Rêveries, in 2019. His unsettling, atmospheric score for 2022's The Whale was a departure from the playful, often sentimental tone of his prior romantic comedies. Rob Simonsen was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 11, 1978. He grew up in a household of music enthusiasts, and his grandmother was a voice teacher. He studied music theory and jazz piano in college, where he began branching out into composing.

Composer, improviser and multi-instrumentalist Colin Stetson is known for his powerful approach to the saxophone (bass saxophone in particular) and bass clarinet performances. His whale-like tone, circular breathing technique, and a trademark physical approach to getting sound from the saxophone's finger pads create both melodic and rhythmic pulses and and nearly endless exploratory possibilities.
