The new Sorrentino's TV series is already a success and, as usual, the choice of the soundtrack is profound and extraordinary. The Young Pope soundtrack mixes classics with electronic music, forgotten Italian songs (Nada "Senza un perchè" / Roberto Murolo "Era di Maggio") with Jeff Buckley, Max Richter, John Adams, Bela Bartok, Antonello Venditti, Jefferson Airplane and Domenico Modugno. A mystic experience.

Carl Nielsen took Danish music into the 20th century, and his chamber music has a prominent position in the international repertoire. In spite of this Carl Nielsen only composed a limited number of chamber works for strings. This CD features two of his string quartets (in G minor and G major) and the only string quintet (in G major) he ever composed. All three works played a central role in Carl Nielsen's musical career, since they were major successes for the debuting composer and contributed to his initial breakthrough.

Here is the second volume of The Young Danish String Quartet's highly acclaimed miniseries of Carl Nielsen's string quartets. The first volume in The Young Danish String Quartet's mini-series of Carl Nielsen's quartets was selected as Editor's Choice in Gramophone last summer, and a number of prestigious magazines and newspapers from all over the world agreed: This interpretation of Nielsen's string quartets sheds brilliant new light on Denmark's national composer.

The Rascals (initially known as The Young Rascals) was an American rock band, formed in Garfield, New Jersey, United States, in 1965.
Between 1966 and 1968 the New Jersey act embraced soul music, reaching the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 with nine singles, including the #1s "Good Lovin'" (1966), "Groovin'" (1967), and "People Got to Be Free" (1968), as well as big radio hits such as the much-covered "How Can I Be Sure?" (#4 1967) and "A Beautiful Morning" (#3 1968), plus another critical favorite "A Girl Like You" (#10 1967), becoming one of the best known examples of the blue-eyed soul genre, along with the Righteous Brothers. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
The Rascals were inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame in 2010 and also reunited in 2012 for a series of shows in New York and New Jersey. The reunion continued in 2013 with shows on Broadway.

5CD set. Collects five of their original albums, in card LP replica sleeves! Features "Young Rascals" (1966) ; "Collections" (1967) ; "Groovin'" (1967) ; "Once Upon A Dream" (1968) and "Freedom Suite" (1969). The Rascals' blend of blue-eyed soul, British Invasion pop, and garage band R&B made them one of the more interesting American rock groups of the 1960s. This set, which includes the band's first five original LPs, 1966's The Young Rascals, 1967's Collections and Groovin', 1968's Once Upon a Dream, and 1969's Freedom Suite, shows the band's rapid growth and expansion into psychedelic rock, urban soul, and other areas, even incorporating gospel, jazz, and Latin elements into the mix. It adds up to a complete portrait of a fine singles band with a whole lot of heart and soul.

The Young Mothers is the coolest sound to come out of Austin since the 80s. One of the best rhythm sections in 21st century free jazz provides the platform for adventurous cross-genre improvisation, with threads of Houston hip hop, Austin indie rock, and North Texas heavy metal vibraphone. Tektite Records has incubated a new Texas noise scene founded on first rate musicianship, and The Young Mothers are the vanguard.

If ever an American band went through a more startling transformation than the Rascals did during the six years the original band recorded for Atlantic, let them show their colors. Here was a young east group who from the jump had complete creative control over their recordings, publishing, production, and packaging – something unheard of then – and issued over 15 Top 40 singles, three Top Ten albums, and two more that cracked the Top 40, most of which were issued without critical acclaim at the time. This six-CD retrospective of the band's entire tenure on Atlantic (there were two more recordings afterwards, issued on Columbia with a splintered version of the band), documents their complete studio output of eight albums over four and a half discs, and devotes a disc and a half to singles, A- and B-sides, alternates, and different versions of hits. For those familiar with the hits, it's difficult to imagine that the Rascals ever rocked as hard as they did on their first two albums, The Young Rascals and Collections.
