Le reggaeman ivoirien Tiken Jah Fakoly publie un nouvel album, Le Monde est chaud enregistré cette fois-ci à Abidjan, comme un retour aux sources.
Avec Tiken Jah, on sait à quoi s’attendre : du reggae africain solide. Et quatre ans après Racines où il reprenait une dizaine de classiques du reggae, l’Ivoirien à la voix chaleureuse ouvre son nouvel album avec un duo, le second qu’il enregistre avec le rappeur marseillais Soprano après Ouvrez les frontières en 2007.

In 2005, Senegalese superstar Youssou N'Dour helped organize a concert in Dakar, Senegal, to generate support in the fight against malaria, a disease that continues to plague much of Africa. The Roll Back Malaria concert showcased some of the finest musicians in Northwest Africa, performing in a wonderful if small cross section of musical styles from the vast African continent.
Some common elements in all the performances were multiple percussionists (this being Africa, after all), and an aural fabric of ostinatos, usually played by one or more electric guitars.

Saïd M’Roumbaba, alias Soprano, débute sa carrière musicale au sein du groupe de rap marseillais, Les Psy 4 De La Rime. Le collectif se forme en 1995, dans un premier temps sous le nom de KDB. Avec ses acolytes, Soprano livre les disques Bloc Party (2002) et Enfants de la lune (2005). Le style du rappeur ne manque pas de se faire remarquer. Début 2006, Soprano décide de débuter une carrière solo en parallèle à sa carrière de groupe et enregistre son premier single, Moi j’ai pas. Son premier album arrive dans les bacs la même année et s'intitule Psychanalyse. Le rappeur sort, en février 2007, son premier album solo, Puisqu'il faut vivre.
