Founded back in 2004 by former Credence Records boss Mark Brown, Cr2 Records has spent more than a decade releasing some of the world’s most forward-thinking dance music. Fedde Le Grand, Steve Angello, and Eric Prydz have all graced the label with tracks, while artists such as UZ and Michael Brun represent some of the more recent releases. Headed in to the summer months, and inevitably the start of the Ibiza season, Cr2 is releasing a compilation album. The Ibiza Opening Party 2017 compilation comes with featuring releases from heavy hitters such as Yotto, Arman van Helden, The Black Madonna, Tchami, Waze & Odyssey, Josh Butler, Paul Wolford, and the Christopher Kah record, ‘Shift’, which is being premiered today via Dance and Rave.

For much of the '90s, Aretha Franklin acted as if she couldn't even care about appealing to a younger audience. She rarely recorded, and when she did, it was usually slick adult contemporary material. That's what makes the fresh A Rose Is Still a Rose such a surprise. Although it certainly has its share of predictably glossy ballads fit for adult radio (usually produced by Narada Michael Walden or Michael Powell), the most notable element of the album is that Franklin collaborates with fresh talent, all of whom are either prominent rap figures or at least fluent in hip-hop.
