Time to Die

Explores the human cost of the current British law on assisted dying through the stories of five people who all want the right to die at a time of their choosing, as well as why some feel this is a choice they should never have. This film for the Exposure strand asks if there can be any answer that would satisfy both sides of the contentious assisted dying debate, or whether this delicate issue will remain unresolved in the UK for the foreseeable future.

The semi-autobiographical film on director Hou Hsiao-Hsien's childhood and adolescence, when he was growing up in Taiwan, living through the deaths of his father, mother and grandmother.

For killing in a duel, Juan Sayago (Jorge Martínez de Hoyos) is sent to jail, and after serving 18 years of conviction , returns to his hometown, with the intention of living a normal life along Mariana Sampedro (Marga López) but the sons of the man he murdered are bent on revenge.
