This time Jasmine has teamed up with her friend and controller of the Timi Yuro estate: Mike Iannarelli to bring you 20 superb tracks. Features Timi's rare and unreleased recordings from her tenure at both Liberty and Mercury records, with all but one recordings being taken direct from the original master tapes for superb sound fidelity. Includes "Don't Keep My Lonely Too Long", "You Took My Happy Away" and "Turn The World Around The Other Way" which appear in stereo from the original 3 track masters for the very first time. Music listening and detailed liner notes written by the esteemed Mike Iannarelli top off this excellent new set from Jasmine which is simply a must have for all Timi Yuro fans.

We all know popcorn as a sweet and salty confectionery made from maize that is sold in cinemas. But it also gave rise to an R&B instrumental, The Popcorn, written by James Brown in 1969. Around that time, a new form of party music developing in Belgium was named ‘Popcorn’ after the James Brown hits. Rather like Northern Soul in Wigan, it relied on disc jockeys, notably Gilbert Govaert, unearthing black soul singles from the early 1960s. Northern Soul favoured up-tempo tracks and Popcorn smoochier ones, which prompted a ‘slow swing’ dance. Enjoy this 2CD compilation including Timi Yuro, The Pentagons, Ben E. King and many more.

2021 release. Although for many decades it was principally the domain of jazz-styled singers and musicians, The Great American Songbook has undergone a significant revival in recent years, in terms of the mass market's rediscovery of the genre. Loosely defined, these are the most popular and enduring songs from the 1920s through to the 50s, most of which were written for Broadway theatre, musical theatre and/or Hollywood musical movies. And although regular Pop Music has generally endured a somewhat difficult relationship with what has always been perceived as "serious" music, many R&B and early Soul performers dabbled in the Great American Songbook over the years. Male record buyers didn't scream and reduce themselves to tears, but many would have dreamt of spending time with their favorite girl singer. An iconic Kent vinyl album expanded to CD format with bonus soul necessities.
Over the years we have been asked to issue CDs versions some of the most popular Kent LPs we put out in the 1980s. With the exception of “Slow’n’Moody, Black & Bluesy”, a few releases in our Hip Pocket series and some solo collections, we have held off until now. “On The Soul Side” is a good place to start, as it was our first compilation drawn from a catalogue other than Kent/Modern. A superb collection of mainly big budget 60s soul sides sourced from the Capitol, Liberty, Minit, Imperial and United Artists family of labels, only a quarter of the tracks on the LP have since appeared on Kent CDs. With an extra 10 like-minded soul songs added, it means that no more than 15.3846% (approx) are likely to be in even the most avid Kent fan’s collection.

The twentieth century saw an incredible growth in the popularity of both cinema and popular music as entertainment genres. It was probably inevitable that the two genres would eventually move closer together, and this collection charts many fine examples from the last few decades. We suggest you use this collection to pose yourself the question of how the music enhances the film. This 3 CD set includes many of favourites of the period covered. The records are from 1944 to 1985 with both original recordings and re-recordings. Favourites include Chain Gang (Sam Cooke); What Do You Want? (Adam Faith) & How D’ Ya Like Your Eggs in the Morning (Dean Martin & Helen O’Connell). The sound quality is very good throughout.
