The Gori Project II: Connection between people, immersion in music. With The Gori Project II, musician and composer Torben Westergaard wanted to create a cultural exchange and a musical example of how a democratic conversation between people and cultures can unfold. It is music that fuses jazz and traditional Korean music in terms of genre and creates space for immersion, improvisation, and surprises. Because that is exactly what music can do: Create space for new realizations and stronger connections artistically, sensually, and humanly.

Music is the most precious thing. It surpasses all the borders and boundaries that we humans like to put up. It speaks directly, heart-to-heart, in a troubled world and reminds us of all the things we have in common. Luckily, we found an easy resonance between South Korea and Denmark in this project.

Mit “Kleinkariert” veröffentlicht TORBEN KLEIN auf dem Label M Steht Für Musik von Manfred Rolef (Vertrieb: Warner Music) sein viertes Solo-Studioalbum und das erste mit ausschließlich eigenen Kompositionen seit seinem Solo-Debüt „Allein“ in 2019.

An exciting international trio initiated by Scandinavian improv; saxophonist Torben Snekkestad, flanked by two esteemed international capacities in the field of free improvised music – the Spanish pianist Agustí Fernández and the British double bass player Barry Guy. The music they create together is situated somewhere between free improvisation, free jazz, and contemporary classical music and executed with lightning fast interaction and explorative innovative sounds and textures.

Traversing Sonic Territories is a new collaboration and artistic research project that intends to investigate how a radicalized sharing of personal sample libraries can contribute to an expansion of improvisational and imaginal horizons toward new sonic worlds.
