Uma Agente Muito Louca

Based on 19th century story "O Alienista" by great Brazilian writer Machado de Assis, the film is a free adaptation, telling the story of Catholic priest Simão Bacamarte who comes to the small town of Serafim to investigate on the phenomenon of madness and ends up putting most of its inhabitants in an asylum, making things get out of control.

Miguel is 40 years old and has his great share of the usual problems. His body is starting to give signs of rebellion against a life that is full of unrestraints, he is separated from his wife and he got himself involved with another woman that gives him nothing but troubles, he has no time for his son, he is having lots of problems in his job and his bank account is down to zero. In short, his whole life is falling apart. However, a last blow of energy makes him decide to make a change. Deep inside, he thinks, all he wants is to lead a normal life. Unfortunately for him a normal life is the most difficult thing in the world.
