Among the most famous of all New Orleans jazz musicians, clarinetist Pete Fountain exemplifies the Dixieland jazz style and was instrumental in making the sound famous throughout the world. Presented here is a vintage audiophile album featuring Pete leading his band through a classic set of New Orleans Dixieland standards. All selections have been newly remastered.

SYMPHONY NO. 3 from composer Michael Kurek is a tribute to the history and natural beauty of England. The work is fundamentally Romantic, but is also influenced by Edwardian English music. The composer draws inspiration from personal memories, nature, poetry, and art; “Upon a Walk in the English Countryside,” recalls the composer’s emotional reaction to the lush, pastoral beauty of the English countryside. “Stonehenge” reflects the austerity and timelessness of that ancient monument, while “The Lady of Shalott” nods to Waterhouse’s colorful, pre-Raphaelite depiction of Tennyson’s famous poem. The symphony’s conclusion, “The Major Oak of Sherwood Forest,” celebrates the roughly 1000-year-old tree in Nottinghamshire and is perhaps the most climactic of Kurek’s works.

The perfect extension of her 2020 self-titled record, Iris elevates Reb Fountain’s music to new heights. Reb effortlessly combines pop elements with her trademark noir folk-punk sound; weaving authentic and anthemic tunes that create an instant and indelible impression.

Reb Fountain is a Singer-Songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand. Reb sailed into Lyttelton Harbour carrying generations of migrant stories imbued in her bones. She has spent forever travelling, performing, studying, recording & working as a musician & songwriter who’s not afraid to get her $20 ex-army boots muddy as hell walkin’ to the next town for a show. Scripture, and especially the Book of Psalms, has always formed the substance of the daily prayer of Christian monks and nuns. Monastic men and women spend more time among the scriptures each day than in most other activities. How do such regular interactions with the texts of Old and New Testaments help us renew our Christian imaginations; how might these reflective encounters enable all of us to discover the wind of the Spirit, the fountain of living water and the fire from which God speaks, within the printed pages of our Bibles?

No matter how one approaches the equation, the combination of the words "voice" and "soul music" always gives the same result : Aretha ! Throughout her early career, the one known as Lady Soul blended gospel, funk, rhythm'n'blues, jazz and soul with her unique voice, like no other. A voice that grew up alongside those of her sisters at Detroit church in her pastor father's choir. The legendary John H. Hammond, who discovered the young Aretha Franklin, signed her to Columbia in the early 1960s, eager to make her a jazz singer. But after a few sessions (anecdotal in terms of the quality of what the coming years will offer…), she passes into the Atlantic stable of Jerry Wexler.

Among the collection's 81 remastered tracks, 19 are making their CD and digital debuts, including alternate versions of classic hits, demos, rarities, and live tracks, like her stunning performance of '(You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman' at The 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors in 2015. To put Franklin's life and career into perspective, the collection is accompanied by liner notes written by Rochelle Riley, author and director of arts and culture for the City of Detroit, and David Nathan, a music journalist and soul historian who interviewed Franklin more times than any other living writer.
