Wanderley was already playing the piano at the age of five; at the age of twelve he received lessons in music theory.

Brazilian organist Walter Wanderley was one of the true masters of his instrument, both in Brazil and throughout the world.

He has composed over twenty albums for the KPM Recorded Music Library, covering many genres: Town and Country, Pure Big Band, Essential Brass Band, The Romantic Album, and three CDs of original songs: Classic Sounds & Classic Songs. His most recent project for KPM, (released 2007), was a double CD: Jazz Anthology.

Saxophonist Walter Smith III is a forward-thinking musician with a bent toward swinging post-bop jazz and modern creative composition. Along with projects with Joshua Redman and Christian Scott, Smith has garnered attention for his own albums like 2006's Casually Introducing and 2014's Still Casual, the latter of which featured trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and guitarist Matthew Stevens. Smith and Stevens also have an ongoing collaboration featuring a revolving lineup showcased on 2018's In Common, 2020's In Common II, 2022's In Common III, and 2023's Return to Casual.

Blues Hall of Fame inductee Walter Davis was a prolific and innovative artist who played an influential role in the creation of the pre-war Blues scene. On The Walter Davis Project a diverse collection of Blues Legends pay tribute to the man and his music, including Billy Boy Arnold, Jimmy McCracklin, Charlie Musselwhite, Christian Rannenberg and Keith Dunn, and Henry Townsend with Bob Corritore. The 17 track collection of Walter Davis' compositions include R&B Legend Jimmy McCracklin's final recordings as well as an interview with Mr. McCracklin, who was taught piano as a child by Walter Davis, by producer Christian Rannenberg, plus 2 tracks from Charlie Musselwhite and an unreleased track from 2002 by Henry Townsend with Living Blues Award winner Bob Corritore. 2012 Blues Hall of Fame member Billy Boy Arnold contributes 9 tracks. The Walter Davis Project album will be treasured by both Blues music lovers and collectors. Wanderley was born in Recife, Brazil. Already famous in his native country by the late 1950s, he became an internationally renowned star in the mid-1960s through his collaboration with the singer Astrud Gilberto.
