Leonard Feather once famously described Hank Mobley as 'the middleweight champion of the tenor saxophone.' Middleweights never get much respect. But before drugs and general dissipation got him, Mobley recorded some albums for Blue Note in the 1960s that make time stand still. Soul Station exemplifies the suave, flowing melodicism and erotic rhythmic subtlety that made Mobley unique. With a rhythm section for the ages behind him, Mobley delivers profundities of soul and swing now gone from planet Earth. This Audio Wave reissue uses JVC's XRCD24 mastering and manufacturing technologies and gets you closest to Blue Note's master tapes.

Living in Fear is the second album from the supergroup The Power Station, released in 1996. The band had the same lineup as for their previous album in 1985. However, John Taylor was going through a divorce at the time, as well as entering drug rehab, and pulled out before the album was recorded. Instead Bernard Edwards, the producer, played all Taylor's bass parts on the record. Unfortunately, Edwards died of pneumonia in Japan before the album was released; the album is dedicated to his memory.

Music Wars - 40 Years of Central Station Records: the story of Central Station Records and its crucial role in the development of the electronic dance music scene in Australia and New Zealand from the 1970s to today. Founded in the 1970s, Central Station Records grew from a small independent Melbourne based store into an iconic dance music brand, recognised on a global scale. By the mid-90s, the brand held physical stores in major cities, busy mail-order and export operations, successful recording labels and streetwear lines. The focus was electronic dance music - from disco and house to hip hop and hardcore - and the whole lifestyle surrounding it. Meanwhile, sideline business, Metal for Melbourne, catered for another emerging and neglected market - heavy metal fans. In many ways, original owners Giuseppe (Jo) Palumbo and Morgan Williams were unlikely entrepreneurs. Both from the wrong side of the tracks in their respective birthplaces (Italy and New Zealand), they were motivated more by the prospect of achievement, freedom and fun than by any hunger for money and status. Unfortunately for them, freedom and fun were hard to come by for many years, as they contended with legal threats, supply embargoes and intimidation tactics. Fortunately, dance music took off in a big way. Generations of DJs, clubbers, ravers and radio listeners supported their stores and tunes. And it is to the dedicated and loyal fans that Central Station Records owes their thanks, in celebrating 40 years.

Thatcher, riots, unemployment, Crossroads, Threads, the freezing cold, cold war… you can't always blame it on the weather. CTR+ALT+DEL examines the electronics of circumstance. From the punk explosion that spat on and then spawned the bloated and disastrous and generated the degenerated. A pitiful series of reluctant occurrences in the automatic brutality of an urban paradise. The dirty rotten '80s, oh, how we despaired. A gathering of rare and obscure vinyl adventures culled from the Cold War collective. Also known as cold wave, minimal wave or new wave, these are the monologues of a modern wave. Features a 12-page color booklet with comprehensive liner notes and rare color photographs. Artists include: Moskow, White Russia, Farm Life, Blaue Reiter, Gerry & The Holograms, Magits, Klingons, The Filmcasts, Four Plugs, To The Finland Station, Bumbites, V-Sor, X, Orior, Eternal Scream, Firmament And The Elements, Bendall's Box, Distributors, Allies, The Freeze, and Bad Actors.
