Harry Gregson-Williams is set to reunite with Antoine Fuqua on the upcoming action thriller sequel The Equalizer 2. The film stars Denzel Washington, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman who reprise their characters from the original movie. They are joined by Pedro Pascal and Ashton Anders. Richard Wenk wrote the screenplay. Jason Blumenthal & Todd Black (The Pursuit of Happyness, Seven Pounds), Washington, Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump, Mace Neufeld (Patriot Games, Invictus), Alex Siskin and Tony Eldridge are producing the project. Gregson-Williams has previously scored the original Equalizer movie in 2014 and also collaborated with Fuqua (Training Day) on 1997’s The Replacement Killers. Rupert Gregson-Williams has been hired to score the upcoming comic book movie Aquaman. The film is directed by James Wan (Furious 7, The Conjuring, Insidious, Saw) and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Ludi Lin, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Michael Beach and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The movie is based on the DC Comics character who learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, born half-human as Arthur Curry and half-Atlantean. Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Annabelle) is producing the project. Gregson-Williams has previously scored DC’s Wonder Woman for the studio. Aquaman is set to be released on December 21, 2018 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

On Charles Lloyd & the Marvels 2016 debut, I Long to See You, the ensemble – the saxophonist's rhythm section, drummer Eric Harland and bassist Reuben Rogers, and guitarists Bill Frisell and Greg Leisz – delivered an honorable but overly deferential outing that somewhat belied the promise of its personnel. On Vanished Gardens, the Marvels leave deference in the dustbin. Here, with the assistance of Lucinda Williams, they create a music that draws on the sum total of experience and shared emotion.

This recording could be considered a near-sibling to April in Paris, since several of its tracks date from sessions recorded the same month. Others overlap with material cut for The Greatest!! Count Basie Plays, Joe Williams Sings Standards, and aren't as compelling, either as Joe Williams vehicles or Basie showcases. As either of those, though, it does have its moments, most notably the original finale, arranger Ernie Wilkins' "From Coast to Coast," an eight-and-a-half-minute blow-out, the Ella Fitzgerald-Joe Williams duet on "Too Close for Comfort," and the title track, rearranged by Wilkins but close to the classic rendering, which features lively solos by Frank Wess, Benny Powell, Frank Foster, and (especially) Joe Newman and Henry Coker.

Beau Williams (born January 6, 1950) is an American gospel singer from Texas. Williams' albums with Capitol Records include a self-titled album in 1982, Stay With Me (1983), Bodacious! (1984) and No More Tears (1986). After his third Capitol release, Williams signed with Light Records and returned to his roots in Gospel music. Williams' album "No More Tears" is a real cultural act. Behind the record was the production company Hush Productions, which had hit the Gold Room commercially for Freddie Jackson and was able to produce a long line of high-quality male vocalists (Beau Williams, Willie Collins, Lillo Thomas, John White, Scott White ), whose albums, however, typically sold poorly - which doesn't mean they were weak. On the contrary, these discs often found more soulfulness and edging than Freddie Jackson's albums, which largely replicated the same safe (albeit still high-end) hit mold from one disc to another.
