So much of new differently arranged and so-called "collector's" compositions have been located at the Eastgate Studios within the last couple of months, so that the decision for the SEVENTH and LAST double CD out of the Booster series was made very easily. The Booster CD's have been a kind of a corner stone within the TD community building some guidelines for those newbies who needed some help where to start discovering the various landmarks of TD's work. Quite a reasonable number of newer compositions have also found their way into the public. But we do not want the Boosters become a racehorse within a series of titles all running against each other. Therefore decision has been made to stop with a last product which simultaneously has some of the best and rare TD compositions from all decades to offer - of course subjectively speaking. Relax, sit back and enjoy a little trip with the TD time machine through a well-known and sometimes strange musical territory.
Booster III, released in December 2009 is the third installment of a successful series of compilations featuring a number of tracks that already have released in recent time plus some completely new compositions or previously unreleased remixes.
The Booster series supposed to be a musical side reflection - a hidden TD landmark not aimed for a TD mainstream success. But sometimes things were turned upside down. The whole cupdisc idea which now became a short note musical diary format plus some extras released on the two previous Booster volumes provoked such an enthusiastic reaction that you will have the chance now to experience the third part of this series…
Booster IV is in the same tradition as you already know from Booster I, II and III - a compilation of former cupdisc tracks, many new tracks and some older tracks with a new livery. Some tracks you will definitely be familiar with, others are completely fresh and surprising. Booster IV will be especially for those a delicacy who missed out the Purple Diluvial cupdisc which ran out of stock rather quickly in 2008, all three tracks Babylon The Great Has Fallen, Armageddon In The Rose Garden, Part Two and Purple Diluvial (a re-recorded version) are on this compilation.
Years ago when Eastgate started the Booster compilation series, it used to be mainly a collection of cupdisc titles and newly recorded music material originally composed for various occasions. We never thought that it will become one of the best accepted CD releases out of our very extensive catalogue. Now we've achieved Booster number 5, a very special collection because the band themselves selected it out of a variety of known and unknown material. We do hope that this record will become a good companion during your diverse daily activities or private moments. Enjoy more than two hours of Tangerine Dream's description of another time in another country - far far away…
"Booster" comes as a double CD and contains some real goodies from the alchymical soundboard of TD. There are two brand-new compositions and some tracks which aren't available on various EP's anymore. Of course you will hear music you've probably heard before. But for some of you it will become a collector's item as a pack of tracks which definitely will become 'classics' out of the first decade of the new musical Century.
This 2CD set features newly recorded versions of fan favorites such as "Cloudburst Flight" (from the 1979 album Force Majeure) and "Scrapyard" (from the 1981 soundtrack to the Michael Mann film "Thief") along with other rare tracks plus a stellar version of The Beatles’ "Tomorrow Never Knows" and much more.
