Stanley Cowell (born May 5, 1941) is an American jazz pianist and co-founder of the Strata-East Records label. Cowell was born in Toledo, Ohio. He began playing the piano at around the age of four, and became interested in jazz after seeing Art Tatum at the age of six. Tatum was a family friend. After high school, Cowell studied at Oberlin College and the University of Michigan. During his time at college he played with jazz innovator Rahsaan Roland Kirk, which proved to be formative for the pianist. He moved to New York in the mid-1960s.

After a 14 years successful career, Garou has decided to surprise us one more time: a rhythm and blues Christmas album. This time Garou has decided to revisit the classics with originality. He has cunningly been able to incorporate both French and English in the songs and used live sessions to get their magical sound.From his Montreal workshop Garou and his musical elves recorded this album to have it come out simultaneously in Quebec and France.
