At Pashupatinath, the oldest and most sacred temple in Kathmandu, crowds of devout Hindus come every day to cremate their dead at the edge of the Baghmati river. The bodies of the deceased are reduced to ashes according to custom, offerings floated out onto the water on banana leaves. For the homeless children who live among the alleyways, plazas, and ancient buildings of this holy complex, these funeral rites are integral to daily survival, as they collect food and money offerings brought by the mourners, scraping out a living in a place full of the dead and dying.

Three warriors from the Goryo Dynasty, Poong-Chun, Deok-Ki and Seol-Rang pledge to fight for the impoverished people under the incompetent king and they lead a riot. However, due to Deok-Ki's betrayal, Poong-Chun dies and Seol-Rang, as stricken by guilt, flees with Poong-Chun's sword and his infant daughter, Hong-Yi.
18 years later, the female warrior is now blind and she trains the young woman in martial arts. Soon Seol-Rang reveals that she is the one who killed her parents. Hong-yi falls in utter shock, leaves Seol-Rang and plans to get revenge on both her and Deok-Ki, by now the most powerful man in the country. Soon blood will be shed.

This film tells a story about an unschooled 11-year-old girl Yi-Jie, she's a truly global child who learns the world through the United Nations of Wastes while working with her YI minority parents in this recycle workshop thousand miles away from their mountain village home town. Going to school is all she longing for. And the ambitious boss of the workshop Kun, who works so hard for trying to give his family a better life. Through the story of these two families, the film explores how these wastes recycled by the bare hands of families, and discovers their dilemma and choices of suffering irreversible damages on life just to make a living. It also observes that the world is flat and issues don't go away by changing time and location - we're all in this together.
